Page Content The focus of this department is three- pronged:
- We provide the best possible sport and recreation facilities and services to all people in Tshwane to enhance their quality of life;
- We also focus on promoting the development, conservation and maintenance of the arts, culture and heritage in the city by making it a world-renowned cultural city; lastly
- We provide community library and information services that contribute to the development and education of all the residents of Tshwane.

The Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture provides the city with recreation and education through our two broad divisions: - Our division of Departmental Policy and Systems Management, which has two sections;
- Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture Policy and Systems Development; and
- Library and Information Policy and Systems Development.
- Our division of Departmental Events and Programme Management, which has two sections;
- Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture Events and Programme Development; and
- Library and Information Events and Programme Development.
