The Executive Mayor of Tshwane, Councillor Kgosientso Ramokgopa and the Mayor of Washington D.C., Mayor Vincent Gray today signed a five year agreement of Friendship and Cooperation between the two cities.

This agreement will focus on five strategic areas of cooperation namely:

• Cultural and Educational Exchanges;
• Economic Development and Tourism;
• Public Health;
• Government and Technology; and
• Public Safety.

The Executive Mayor, Cllr Kgosientso Ramokgopa, the Member of the Mayoral Committee responsible for City Planning and Economic Development, Cllr Subesh Pillay, and senior officials are currently on a business and trade mission to Washington DC, San Francisco and New York.

The strategic focus and mission of the trip is to strengthen relations with Washington D.C. and to invite, encourage and secure investment opportunities and linkages with businesses from all over the United States of America.
