Rate payers should please take note that in terms with the Municipal Property Rates Act, 2004 (Act 6 of 2004), the Valuation Roll for the period 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2017 is open for public inspection. The document can be inspected at the under-mentioned offices of the Municipality from 27 February to 3 May 2013. The Valuation Roll is also available on
www.tshwane.gov.za.
Any person who wishes to lodge an objection in respect of any matter in, or omitted from, the roll can lodge the objection with the City Manager within the above-stated period. The objection must be in relation to a specific individual property, and not against the Valuation Roll as such (section 50(2) of the Act). Furthermore, the lodging of an objection does not defer liability for payment of rates beyond the date determined for payment (section 50(6) of the Act).
