On 14 March 2013, the Executive Mayor of Tshwane, Cllr Kgosientso Ramokgopa, will hand over a total of R250 000 to Medicos Special School. The donation will alleviate some of the challenges the school is facing and ensure that the school runs effectively.
This is a long-term sustainable development approach which is in line with the City's new Growth and Development Strategy. The MMC for Health and Social Development, Cllr Eulanda Mabusela, will accompany the Executive Mayor.
Through the donation, Medicos Special School aims to develop severely intellectually-handicapped leaners' technical and management skills to enable them to lead independent lives and make a productive contribution to society. Meanwhile the City will also achieve its strategic objective, which is to uplift communities by promoting a culture of competitive education, enabling learners to lead independent lives and making a productive contribution to society.
