  • Application for non-executive Board Directors for TEDA and HCT

    The City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality wishes to appoint suitably qualified, dynamic and experienced non-executive directors to serve on the boards of the two municipal entities. The entities are wholly owned and/or controlled by the City of Tshwane and are the following:

     

    • Tshwane Economic Development Agency (TEDA)
    • Housing Company Tshwane (HCT)

     

    The appointment of the directors will coincide with the political term of Council, subject to annual review. The duties of the directors will be to guide and manage the entities in terms of the obligations stipulated in the relevant legislation, agreements with the City as well as the relevant City policy documents. The directors must be able to lead, control and monitor the business of the entities which includes governance, legal, finance, auditing and managerial matters. The duties, responsibilities and remuneration of directors are addressed in three policy documents of the City, ie the Corporate Governance Principle of Municipal Entities; the City's Board Charter for Municipal Entities; and the Policy (process) for the Appointment of Directors for Municipal Entities in respect of remuneration of Directors and Chief Executive Officers of Municipal Entities.

     

    Directors will be appointed based on their knowledge or professional experience in any one or more of the fields of economic development, finance, social housing, legal, accounting, economics, business economics, management, property development as well as community, social development and youth representation. The general purpose of entities is to facilitate economic development and to provide social and affordable housing within the City.
