Kauru provides a platform for African contemporary artists and cultural practitioners to showcase their art in five regions of Africa.

The Pretoria Art Museum, in partnership with the South African National Association for the Visual Arts (SANAVA), presents the Children’s Tile Art Project Exhibition 20Twelve.

On Tuesday, 12 November, four of the five paintings which were stolen from the Pretoria Art Museum were recovered. Following a tip-off, the Port Elizabeth police found the artworks under a bench at a private cemetery in Sun Ridge Park.

Due to a robbery at the Pretoria Art Museum on Sunday 11 November 2012 the Museum will be closed until Tuesday 20 November to allow for the completion of the investigation.

Cedric Nunn is one of the great discoveries in the middle generation of South African photographers. He comes from one of the country’s oldest families and his central theme is social life in rural and urban South Africa.

The exhibition Flatlands is inspired by Johannesburg’s inner city. The work documents people who have moved into this high-rise urban environment; many of them refugees, all of them searching for “gold” in one form or another.

Pedestrian Paintings (2006-2011), Andries Gouws’s travelling exhibition,will be on show at the Pretoria Art Museum from 8 Dec 2011 to 29 February 2012. The exhibition will opened on Thursday, 8 December 2011 at 18:30.

This extensive exhibition of about 150 works featuring sculptures, photographs and etchings by Gordon Froud and paintings by Lance Friedlande is held at the Pretoria Art Museum from Wednesday, 26 October 2011 until Sunday, 22 January 2012.

The heritage of the KWV is significantly determined by its engagement with the arts. In 1977, Cecil Skotnes created a piece for the KWV which is arguably one of the artist’s most exceptional works.

Michael Tshepo Selekane is a South African visual artist and a beneficiary of AusAid's developmental funding to the Ifa Lethu Foundation. In this exhibition of his, a collection of mainly oil paintings can be seen.

The Pretoria Weavers Guild celebrates its 60th anniversary this year and has arranged an exhibition in the Albert Werth Hall of the Pretoria Art Museum to mark the occasion.

This exhibition, which is part of a larger project by the acclaimed critic Vittorio Sgarbi, has been jointly initiated by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Ministry of Cultural Activities and Heritage.
