TB Care by the City of Tshwane
The City of Tshwane is committed to proactive action in the fight against tuberculosis (TB). The early diagnosis of tuberculosis is essential, and all the City of Tshwane primary health care clinics render tuberculosis services free of charge.

In the majority of cases the symptoms of tuberculosis appear gradually and the person often ignores the symptoms. However, ninety per cent of people with pulmonary (lung) tuberculosis develop a cough soon after the onset of the disease and a person with a cough that lasts longer than two weeks should be tested.
Signs and symptoms
    * Coughing for two weeks or more
    * Chest pain
    * Loss of appetite
    * Loss of weight
    * Night sweats
    * Tiredness and weakness
    * Coughing up blood

NB: Do not wait to have all these symptoms - the presence of two or three are enough for one to go for a TB examination.

If you have TB signs and symptoms, go to your nearest clinic for an examination.

If you are already infected with TB, complete your treatment as requested by the health worker.

REMEMBER, TB CAN BE CURED AND CAN BE TREATED SUCCESSFULLY.
