Public Safety in Tshwane is the responsibility of the CTMM in conjunction with the South African Police services who play a major role. The two major role players in this regard are:
- The Metropolitan Police Service and
- the Department of Emergency Management Services.
The department of Emergency Management Services renders a community management service to eliminate the loss of life and property resulting from any natural or man made emergency or disaster. The services include:
- Emergency Medical and Ambulance Services
- Fire and Rescue Services
- Disaster Management Services
These services are rendered from 17 fire and emergency medical / ambulance stations.
