Structures were removed in Marabastad, specifically the corner of DF Malan Drive and Proes Street where contravention notices under the National Building Regulations had previously been served on premises there. In compliance with the regulations, occupants had been given 24 hours to get the necessary consent to stay or demolish the offending structures. The nature of the structures (size, weight, etc) meant that the assistance of the city engineering unit was needed with additional trucks and a crane. STRUCTURES REMOVED
