Located on the outskirts of Pretoria, Rietvlei Nature Reserve is
one of the nature reserves owned by the City of Tshwane. It is rich in biodiversity and four of the big five animals can be found there. Fifteen percent of Tshwane's water is supplied from the Rietvlei Dam.
The reserve offers a host of activities for visitors, ranging from game-viewing and birdwatching to hiking. The reserve also has picnic sites, ablution facilities, braai areas and a coffee shop.
Rietvlei Nature Reserve is a must-visit place. It is an awesome nature reserve with a huge beautiful dam – a fantastic place to be with family and friends and to create memories while participating in a variety of activities.

Bookings and contact numbers
All bookings for activities and venues should be made a minimum of two weeks in advance. There is no need to make a booking or prearrange for normal day visits to the reserve.
