  • Water Supply Interruption in Region 7

    ​The City of Tshwane's Water and Sanitation Division would like to inform the residents of Region 7 that water supply from Bronkhorstspruit Water Purification Plant is affected by the heavy rains that fell in the area. 

     

    The plant is off until the situation improves. Our operational team is working hard to ensure that quality is back to normal as soon as possible. 

     

    The following areas in Region 7 will be affected.

    • Rethabiseng
    • Zithobeni
    • Ekangala
    • Ekandustria
    • Bronkhorstspruit
    • Thembisile Hani Local Municipality (cross-border municipality)

     

    The City sincerely apologises for the inconvenience that may be encountered as the result of the maintenance. We also appeal to all the residents of the region to preserve water and use it sparingly at all times.

  • Water Supply Interruption - 22November 2017

    ​Scheduled maintenance and upgrading of the water supply network along Ajax Avenue between the corner of Ajax and Midas Avenue and the corner of Ajax Avenue and Achilles Street are being undertaken. Interruption of the water supply is being avoided at all costs. However, the water supply may be interrupted from time to time on Wednesday, 22 November 2017 from 07:30 to 20:00 in the following areas:

     

    • South of Neptune Road and Midas Avenue
    • West of Achilles Street
    • East of Atterbury Road

  • Water Supply Interruption - 15 November 2017

    Water supply interruption: Temba and surrounding areas

    From 08:00 on Tuesday, 14 November 2017, to 08:00 on Wednesday, 15 November 2017, the Temba Water Treatment Plant will be shut down to:

    • Remove the temporal raw water bypass;
    • Blank off the P14 line;
    • Install a T-piece into the Sekampaneng discharge line;
    • Repair the existing concrete lining of the Reservoir 4 feed;
    • Install a breaker to power up raw water pump transformers; and
    • Core drill and install a sample puddle at the intake tower.

    The following areas will be affected:

    Dilopye, New Eersterus, Temba, Babelegi Industries, Marokolong, Ramotse, Majaneng, Mandela Village, Sekampaneng and Hammanskraal.

    During the shutdown, roaming water tankers will supply residents with water.

     

    The City of Tshwane apologises for any inconvenience caused by the shutdown.

  • Water Supply Interruption - 8 November 2017

    WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION

     

    Scheduled maintenance and upgrading are being undertaken on the network that sources its water supply from the Pierre van Ryneveld reservoir. Although it is avoided at all costs, the water supply may be interrupted from time to time on Wednesday, 8 November 2017 from 08:00 to 20:00 in the following areas:

    1. Irene Ext 36, 39, 43, 44, 49, 55, 60, 70, 86, 105, 106, 169, 170, 171, 172, 176, 177, 179, 181 and 193;
    2. Pierre van Ryneveld Ext 0, 2, 4, 5, 7, 11, 13, 14, 15, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29 and 30;
    3. Lyttelton Manor Ext 8.

    The following special places (businesses, schools, hospitals, etc) may be affected, though these may not be the only ones:  

    1. Irene Village Mall
    2. Aerosud
    3. Aapstertjies Kleuterskool/Crèche
    4. Total garage in Pierre van Ryneveld
    5. Shopping centre on the corner of Fouche and Van Ryneveld Avenue

  • Water Supply Interruption - 24 October 2017

    The Roodeplaat Water Treatment Plant will be having a planned shutdown to install two 500 mm butterfly valves and a 500 mm bulk water meter on the pumping main. The estimated time to complete this work is two days, starting on 24 October 2017.

     

    The water supply to the area serviced by the Montana Reservoir will be drawn from other sources (Rand Water).

     

    Rand Water supply will be fully utilised for water provision to the affected areas. If the Rand Water supply is insufficient due to high consumption of water, roaming water tankers will be available.

    • Montana
    • Doornpoort
    • Magalieskruin
    • Sinoville
    • Wonderboom-Suid
    • Pretoria North
    • Christianville
    • Annlin

     

    Residents are urged to use water sparingly to ensure that the reservoir retains its full capacity.

  • Water Supply Interruption - 24 October 2017

    Scheduled maintenance and upgrading are being undertaken of the network that sources water from the Lotus Gardens reservoirs. Interruption of the water supply is avoided at all costs, but it may be interrupted from time to time on Tuesday, 24 October 2017, from 08:00 to 16:00.

     

    The following townships/suburbs will be affected:

     

    • Lotus Gardens

     

    Connection 1:

    Anthesis Street, Bergamot Street and Ruth First Street

     

    Connection 2:

    Henna Street, Festura Street and Bergamot Street

  • Water Supply Interruption - 17 October 2017

    Scheduled maintenance and upgrading of the water supply network are being undertaken in Waterkloof, between the East of Heloma Avenue and Dely Road until Nuwe Hoop Street and Selati Street, and between the South of Main Street and Hazelwood Road until Garsfontein Road and Club Avenue.

     

    Although interruption of the water supply is avoided at all costs, it may be interrupted from time to time on Tuesday, 17 October 2017 from 08:00 to 20:00 in the following areas:

     

    • Maroelana
    • Maroelana X 3
    • Alphenpark
    • Hazelwood

    Scheduled maintenance and upgrading are being undertaken on the network that sources its water supply from the simulated Pretoriusrand reservoir (ie, the future Pretoriusrand reservoir). Although it is avoided at all costs, the water supply may be interrupted from time to time on Wednesday, 18 October 2017 from 08:00 to 20:00 in the following areas:

    1. Olievenhoutbos X 4, 19, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34 and 43
    2. Rua Vista X 9, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24 and 25

    The following special places (businesses, schools, hospitals, etc) may be affected, though not limited to:

    1. Orefile Primary School
    2. Curro Castle Thatchfield
    3. Cup Cake Cutie
    4. Esthrance IT Solutions
    5. Flower Effects

  • Water Supply Interruption - 17 October 2017

    Due to the installation of a water supply pipeline in Hatfield, connections on the corner of Prospect and Hilda Streets, as well as the corner of Jan Shoba and Prospect Streets are scheduled to be made on Tuesday, 17 October 2017. The water supply will therefore be interrupted from 08:00 to 20:00 on this day in the following areas:

     

    • Hatfield
    • Hillcrest
    • Brooklyn north of Murray Street
    • Menlo Park north of 5th Street
    • Arcadia east of Eastwood Street, including Kirkness Street.

  • Water Supply Interruption - 5 October 2017

    Water supply interruption: Temba and surrounding areas

    From 08:00 on 4 October 2017 to 08:00 on 5 October 2017, the Temba Water Treatment Plant will be shut down due to the following installation work:

    • Installation of the new pump suction to the Hammanskraal West suction manifold
    • Welding on the new instrument fittings to the existing discharge feed line at the raw water pump station
    • Removing the temporary bypass at the intake.

    Reservoir 4 will have to be isolated from the system for the new intake line to be connected to Reservoir 5 feed, and to modify the internal overflow pipework. The Water Treatment Plant will be providing water to the community at reduced rate during the period of the shutdown.

    The following areas will be affected:

    • Dilopye
    • New Eersterust
    • Temba
    • Babelegi Industries
    • Marokolong
    • Ramotse
    • Majaneng
    • Mandela Village
    • Sekampaneng
    • Hammanskraal

     

    During this period, roaming water tankers will supply residents with water.

Although it is avoided at all costs, the water supply may be interrupted from time to time on Wednesday, 20 September 2017 from 08:00 to 20:00 in the following areas:

    1. Olievenhoutbos X 4, 19, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34 and 43
    2. Rua Vista X 9, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24 and 25

  • Water Supply Interruption - 24 August 2017

    Due to the installation of a water supply pipeline in Clubview, connections on the corner of Durham Road and Leyden Avenue are scheduled to be made on Thursday, 24 August 2017. The water supply will therefore be interrupted from 08:00 to 18:00 on this day in the following areas:

  • Water Supply Interruption - 10 and 11 August 2017

    Due to the installation of a water supply pipeline in Clubview, connections on the corner of Durham Road and Leyden Avenue are scheduled to be made on Thursday and Friday, 10 and 11 August 2017. The water supply will therefore be interrupted from 09:00 to 18:00 on these days in the following area:

  • Water Supply Interruption - 2 August 2017

    ​Scheduled maintenance and upgrading of the water supply network are being undertaken along Krugersdorp Road between the corner of Krugersdorp and Voortrekker Road, and the corner of Krugersdorp and Marais Road. Interruption of the water supply is being avoided at all costs. However, the water supply may be interrupted from time to time on Wednesday, 2 August 2017 from 08:00 to 20:00 in the following areas:
