The Transparency Beauty of Ubuntu is an exhibition of glass works by Kgotso Edmond Pati. Over the last two years the artist has been engaged in a residency programme at the Pretoria Art Museum's Kopanong Art Studio. Working at some of the most important glass blowing studios, such as Smelt and TUT Glass Studio, Kgotso Pati has produced more than twenty glass artworks and polished them off within the residency space.
Kgotso Pati has participated in numerous group art exhibitions and art competitions, such as Waterkloof Art Lovers Exhibition and St Lorient Inner Child Exhibition. He has also been a finalist in the Ekhuruleni Thami Mnyele Fine Art Awards 2016 and the SASOL New Signatures Art Competition 2017. The artist sees a resonance in the South African patterns inherent in our diverse cultures as a shared sense of commonality and identification which is synonymous with our sense of sharing as a nation. This exhibition curated by The For Sale Project Exhibition Strategic Team seeks to reflect on this notion through a body of glass works produced during Kgotso Pati's Art Residency at the Kopanong Art Studio, Pretoria Art Museum.
The Transparency Beauty of Ubuntu will be on show in the Henry Preiss Hall of the Pretoria Art Museum on Tuesdays to Sundays from 10:00 to 16:00, with guided tours arranged by appointment. The exhibition will be on show until Sunday, 3 December 2017.
