Our target is to repair faulty street lights within four (4) working days.
Cable faults will be repaired within fourteen (14) working days.
Where a street light pole has been damaged to such an extent that the pole needs to be replaced or where theft of conductors took place it will take 14 to 30 working days, due to the insurance procedures.
- Malicious damage:
Vandalism should not be tolerated and anyone seeing people that are deliberately damaging street lights can report their actions at the contact numbers provided.
- General information regarding street lights
Streetlights should not be seen as security lighting for residential property but as a safety measure for road traffic requirements.
Street light poles can be moved when it is found to be in an inconvenient spot. The cost of such a request will be for the account of the resident.
Tshwane Electricity is responsible for the street and high mast lights throughout the CTMM, even in those areas within our boundaries which form part of the ESKOM licensed area of supply.
Areas that are at present unlit are on a program to be lit as and when funds become available.
