The development of the market's infrastructure is a key performance area of the market and takes place according to a master plan and a five-year long-term capital investment programme. • Construction of a building with approximately 11 340 m² floor space and a parking area of approximately 9 800 m².
• Landscaping and irrigation of the site.
• Electrical installation.
• Installation of a sprinkler system.
• Installation of a fire detection system.
• Installation of a smoke ventilation system.
• Installation of a coldrooms and freezers.
• Installation of a cooling and ventilation system.

Mvela Phanda was appointed on 20 October 2004 and the official site handover took place on 28 October 2004. The contractor started in the week of 1 November 2004.

The opening of the centre is planned for the end of November 2005.
