The City of Tshwane, together with other national and provincial stakeholders, has committed to work together to get rid of crime in Tshwane.
The newly elected Executive Mayor of Tshwane, Cllr Nasiphi Moya, and representatives from the Gauteng Department of Community Safety, faith-based organisations, community policing forums and the National Police Ministry signed a cooperation agreement early in October 2024. The agreement seeks to develop various initiatives, programmes and strategies that will promote safer and more conducive environments for all Tshwane residents.
This pledge commits all parties to collaborate and work together to combat crime and ensure the safety of residents. The agreement will ensure that all stakeholders will tackle crime head-on in the regions through coordinated efforts across the city and the province.
The cooperation agreement is aimed at pursuing a shared vision for safety and security within the city and the broader Gauteng by means of an integrated approach and sharing resources.
