Official WhatsApp channels for the City of Tshwane
The City of Tshwane is pleased to introduce eight official WhatsApp channels to strengthen communication with Tshwane residents on key service delivery matters.
The channels will serve as a one-way communication tool, offering customers a centralised and official information source to prevent informal or unverified communication. The City-branded channels consist of one citywide channel focused on citywide service delivery updates and seven regional channels, offering localised service delivery information relevant to specific areas.
The channels will feature the following, among others:
Service alerts: Updates on water, electricity and sewerage interruptions, road closures, ICT disruptions and municipal service schedules
Emergency notices: Notifications on natural disasters and public safety alerts
Public service announcements: Information on policies, by-laws, public participation events, Integrated Development Plan meetings, imbizos, seasonal office closures and discouraging unlawful activities
Project and programme updates: Highlights of City initiatives, service delivery achievements and how these impact residents
