Strategic Events Management

Through a centralised approach, the Strategic Events Management Division is able to ensure that events are used as a platform for communicating the City of Tshwane’s business strategy so as to position Tshwane locally and globally as a capital city of excellence. The Division’s mandate is to project-manage events jointly with City departments, ensure that events are aligned with the City’s overall events framework and that they adhere to ceremonial events protocol, standards, guidelines and compliance requirements as guided by the Safety at Sports and Recreational Events Act, 2010. Events Management in collaboration with Intergovernmental Relations also drives the hosting of cabinet-mandated events in Tshwane such as Freedom Day, Women’s Day and the Day of Reconciliation.
