Planned water supply interruption to affect areas supplied by the Klipdrift Water Treatment Works – 11 July 2026

The City of Tshwane has been informed by Magalies Water of an urgent planned shutdown of the water outflow from the Klipdrift Water Treatment Works to allow for the installation of an isolation valve on the bulk water supply pipeline. The work is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 14 July 2026.

According to Magalies Water, the essential maintenance will be carried out over a period of 15 hours, from 09:00 to 00:00.

The following areas supplied by the Klipdrift Water Treatment Works will be affected:

  • Marokolong
  • Ramotse
  • Babelegi Industrial
  • Kekana Gardens
  • Kudube Units 1, 2, 3 and 6
  • Unit D
  • Unit D Ext

Residents and businesses in the affected areas are encouraged to store sufficient water in advance and to use water sparingly throughout the interruption period.

The City remains committed to providing reliable water services and appreciates the cooperation and understanding of residents and businesses while this essential work is underway.

Customers are also encouraged to adopt the following water-saving measures:

  • Do not water or irrigate gardens using hosepipes or sprinkler systems between 06:00 and 18:00.
  • Do not wash vehicles using hosepipes.
  • Do not fill swimming pools.
  • Reuse grey water, where possible, for watering gardens and flushing toilets.
  • Report water leaks, burst pipes and any incidents of water wastage to the City.
  • Install water-saving devices wherever possible.
