Region 1
Region 1 is situated in the north-western part of the metropolitan area and comprises three main zones: a southern zone (Akasia, Rosslyn and Pretoria North), a northern zone (Klip-Kruisfontein, Ga-Rankuwa, Mabopane, Winterveld and Soshanguve) and the rural zone in the west.
Its population is around 997,000, or 27.3% of the total population of the City of Tshwane which is 3,6 Million. This makes Region 1 the most populous region.
