Region 5 consists of the following areas; Rayton, Cullinan, Refilwe, Sable Hills, Roodeplaat and Onverwacht. The region consists of the bulk of the former Nokeng tsa Taemane Local Municipality, including a small area from the former Kungwini area in the south. It is bordered by the Magaliesberg mountain range, the N1 to the west and the N4 freeway to the south.

Region 5 has three wards (Wards 87,99 & 100).

The region is largely rural in character with a concentration of tourism and agricultural activity found in the area.
