Water meter applications

Applications for a domestic water meter or a bulk water meter should be done at one of the City’s Technical Support Offices. Residents should please submit the following information and documents when applying for a domestic or bulk water meter:

Domestic water meter

Requirements:
• The client first needs to open an account at Customer Care.
• Copy of the approved building plan.
• Application fee increases annually. Current fee is on the application form

Bulk water meter

Requirements:
•The client needs to open a property rates account at a Customer Care Walk In Centre or the Property Rates Section.
Documents needed:
• Deed of Transfer/ Title Deed
• Certified ID copy.
• If not the owner then a power of attorney is needed and certified ID copies (1 for the owner and 1 for the person opening the account).
