Doing business in Tshwane

The City of Tshwane has adopted a wide-ranging Economic Revitalisation Strategy. This strategy is the City’s roadmap to attract at least R17 billion in new investment, add 80 000 new jobs and increase the economic growth of Tshwane to 3,9% by 2029.

The strategy identifies priority economic sectors for support to enable growth. By collaborating with industry role players and assisting businesses to grow, Tshwane – South Africa’s safest city – is positioning itself as the preferred destination for trade and investment and the gateway into the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

The City is investing in economic infrastructure to provide a competitive business environment, ensuring an uninterrupted supply of municipal services and providing investment incentives and business services that will realise inclusive economic growth.

The City of Tshwane is committing to attract foreign direct investment and stimulate domestic investments by means of business retention and expansion. Among others, our initiatives include addressing red tape and bureaucracy, fast-tracking strategic projects and investment initiatives, and developing new and existing industries in partnership with the private sector and academia to leverage the research and development sector in Tshwane.
