Region 2 is located on the northern part of the City of Tshwane and includes Kudube, Hammanskraal, Stinkwater, Suurman and Babelegi. The Region is mostly dominated by the Montana area, consisting of Annlin, Sinoville, Doornpoort and Wonderboom, and Hammanskraal. It has twelve  Wards (Wards 5, 8, 13, 14, 49, 50, 73, 74, 75, 76, 95 and 96). The region is bordered by the Magaliesberg mountain range to the south and 10th Street in Babelegi to the North of Tshwane.

Its population is estimated at 339 182 with 2.5% annual escalation. The Region has a contrasting mix of affluence in the South (i.e. Montana and Sinovile areas) and low income households in the North (Hammanskraal and Stinkwater areas). The Northern part of Region 2 also has a strong presence of traditional leadership with vast potions of land under Amandebele ba Lebelo tribal authority.
