The following documents are required to apply for a licence:

• A copy of your identity document;
• A modus operandi – which is a description of the business, its operating hours, and the removal of the food trailer every day from the trading site;
• A sketch of the proposed site (location);
• Photographs of the inside and outside of the trailer;
• A roadworthy certificate;
• If trading on private property, written permission from the landlord;
• Written proof of access to toilet facilities;
• A site inspection and confirmation by the Tshwane Metro Police Department;
• Inspection certificates from the Health and Emergency Services Departments; and
• Trailer size – the maximum measurements are 2,75 m × 1,91 m × 2,5 m (length × width × height from the ground).
