The City of Tshwane remains at Level 1 water restrictions

The City of Tshwane and all of Gauteng is a water-scarce area with limited access to this precious resource, primarily via the bulk water supplier Rand Water. As such, we must always be conscious of our water consumption and be careful to conserve it. Water conservation simply means using our limited water wisely and caring for it properly. Water is not a limitless resource, so without conservation efforts this vital resource may be exhausted.

The City would like to remind residents that the following water restrictions that were imposed previously in line with the Water Supply By-law were never withdrawn and are therefore still applicable:

  • Do not water or irrigate gardens with a hosepipe or sprinkler system between 06:00 and 18:00.
  • Do not wash vehicles with hosepipes or high-pressure systems.
  • Do not fill swimming pools.

Residents can use the following numbers to report water-related incidents:

Incident Telephone number
No water supply, burst water pipes, leaking meters or blocked street sewers 012 358 9999 or
080 1111 556
Illegal water connections 012 358 9060
Non-payment 012 345 8514
Account enquiries 012 358 9999

We all need to work together to ensure that the limited water the City receives from Rand Water is sufficient for all residents to get enough. We all need to be water wise and do what we can to save water.
