The City of Tshwane has taken note of a fake contractor going around with a supposed City of Tshwane credit control contractor vehicle, taking pictures of houses in Soshanguve on the pretence that this is in relation to a Tshwane Solar Installation Drive. The alleged contractor approaches homeowners in the said area and requests their identity documents.
The City does not have a solar project going on in Soshanguve and residents are cautioned not to fall for this scam. We also wish to warn those who are carrying out such corrupt acts that they will be arrested, charged and prosecuted, as their actions border on criminality.
Tshwane residents are urged to be on the lookout for these perpetrators and, if approached, they should report this to the Tshwane Metro Police Department on 012 358 7095/7096 or the City’s call centre on 012 358 9999.
