City of Tshwane hosts a successful third instalment of AERO South Africa 2023 General Aviation Trade Exhibition at Wonderboom National Airport

The third edition of AERO South Africa took place over a three-day period from
6 to 8 July 2023 at Wonderboom National Airport in Tshwane. The daily schedule was packed with insightful sessions from the exhibitors that delved into the latest aviation innovations and explored various captivating topics.

The event was presented by Messe Frankfurt South Africa in partnership with Fairnamic, the organisers of Europe’s largest general aviation show Aero Friedrichshafen, and proudly hosted in Tshwane.

Some of the key highlights from the third instalment of AERO South Africa in 2023 included the following:

  • Covered 6 123 m2 in 2023 as compared to 5 106 m2 in 2022 (20% increase)
  • 2 981 trade visitors from 21 countries
  • 60 exhibitors with 14 international exhibitors in 2023 compared to 72 exhibitors with eight international visitors in 2022
  • 116 fly-ins in 2023 compared to 103 fly-ins in 2022, which created a dynamic exchange of knowledge and experiences

Demo flights, park and sell, a business matchmaking programme and a youth development programme were just a few of the memorable events during the AERO South Africa Trade Exhibition. These services have made significant contributions to the local economy and are consistent with the multiparty coalition’s strategic objective of creating a business-friendly city that promotes employment and economic growth.

The City of Tshwane is proud to have hosted the largest business-to-business aviation exhibition on the continent at Wonderboom National Airport.
