From 29 March to 25 May 2025, the Pretoria Art Museum will present Weave for your Life, an inspiring exhibition by members of the Pretoria Weavers’ Guild and the Johannesburg Weavers and Spinners Guild.
This exhibition will showcase a diverse collection of handcrafted textiles and articles that highlight the beauty and complexity of weaving. Discover how local artisans blend traditional techniques with innovative designs to create patterns, rich textures and vibrant colours that transform simple threads into extraordinary pieces. Do not miss this celebration of craftsmanship and creativity!
On Saturday, 29 March 2025, at 11:00, the exhibition will be opened by Alicia Vaccari,
psychologist and weaver in the making.

Saturday demonstrations at 10:30
5 April, 26 April, 3 May, 10 May and 24 May 2025: Kumihimo bands and mug rugs will alternately be demonstrated with hands-on workshops. Supplies will be provided.

Saturday, 12 April 2025: Talk by a guild member
Saturday, 17 May 2025: Talk by Prof Natalie Swanepoel on her Trip to Peru
There will be opportunities for walkabouts guided by guild members after the meetings have ended.
