Media statement 20 February 2025
Cllr Nasiphi Moya
Executive Mayor of Tshwane
The City of Tshwane’s weekly inner-city crime operations have continued to strengthen its arm against lawlessness as 61 illegal immigrants were nabbed on Wednesday, 19 February 2025.
In addition, three people were arrested for knowingly employing illegal immigrants and harbouring them in the country.
The Reclaim Our City weekly operations have focused on Sunnyside, Pretoria West and Pretoria Central as part of the mayoral executive’s efforts to reclaim Tshwane from lawlessness.
Wednesday’s operation saw the Tshwane Metro Police Department joined by the Gauteng Traffic Police, South African Police Service (SAPS) and other role players, including the City of Tshwane Economic Development and Spatial Planning Department and the Health Department.
