The City of Tshwane’s Energy and Electricity Business Unit had planned to carry out a five-day construction and upgrading programme on the Wapadrand 132/11 kV Substation, which would have resulted in power supply interruptions in the areas supplied by the substation.
Residents and businesses are hereby advised that the planned work, which was scheduled to take place from Monday, 15 December 2025, to Friday, 19 December 2025 (from 09:00 to 17:00 daily), has been deferred to January 2026. The revised commencement date is still to be confirmed and will be communicated once finalised.
Once the new dates are confirmed, the following areas and businesses supplied by the Wapadrand Substation will be affected during the construction period:
- Wapadrand supply areas
- Silver Lakes
- Six Fountains
- Equestria
- Faerie Glen
- Lombardy
Customers are advised to treat all electricity supply points as live at all times.
