City of Tshwane licencing centres witness a significant increase in number of customers

The City of Tshwane Roads and Transport Department has recorded a steady increase of customers across its Driving Licence and Testing Centres (DLTCs) over the last quarter of the year which ended on 30 June 2022. This despite challenges, such as load-shedding and service delivery interruptions.

During the period April to June 2022, our DLTCs recorded 59 830 transactions, which involved the issuing of 29 894 driving licences, 7 050 learner licences and 11 093 learner licence bookings. Other transactions involved learner licence and driving licence bookings and issuing duplicates.

For the period March to June 2022, 267 077 vehicles were registered while 448 378 were licenced.

These numbers indicate that our centres are a preferred choice for most of Gauteng and neighbouring provinces, and as such I want to extend my thanks to the dedicated City officials who are working to ensure that we provide a quality service to the high number of customers.

The City is working on plans to launch two more centres with the aim to increase services to more customers. Details will be communicated in due course.

I would like to urge customers to continue to use the officials inside our centres and not fall victim to scammers posing as runners. Residents may visit any of our DLTCs across the regions for all motor vehicle registration needs. All centres are cashless.

The Roads and Transport Department commits to efficient customer service and has ensured dedicated resources to improve the overall customer experience.
