Where can I see the valuation of my property?
With the housing prices in PTA where R3 mill barely buys you a family home. Are rates and taxes capped?
Else a pretty average home of 3 mil translate to R3500 rates and of 6 mil to R7000+ when re-evaluation kicks in July 2024. Add Levy for security and pretty soon houses will just sit on the market – they already do. Building new homes will become pointless as most will over capitalise before the project is completed. Less building less job creation…So anyone who gets to retirement age must sell there homes as there pension needs to cover medical, levy, and rates and taxes? All the old people a burden after having a home no longer able to maintain under adjusted rates. Pensioners should be exempt from property rates and taxes if they have owned and paid off there home.
