Chairperson of Section 79 Community Safety Committee welcomes the newly appointed Chief of Police and Chief of Emergency Services

On Tuesday, 10 October 2023, the Chairperson of the Section 79 Community Safety Committee, Cllr Thabang Sebotsane, together with the MMC for Community Safety, Ald Grandi Theunissen, welcomed the newly appointed Chief of Police, Ms Yolande Faro, and the newly appointed Chief of Emergency Services, Mr Moshema Mosia.

During the introductory meeting, the Chairperson said that he was delighted that both chiefs have been appointed and possess valuable experience in their respective fields of expertise. These appointments speak to a professional public service aimed at attracting highly qualified, ethical and committed public servants.

The meeting further set the tone, plans and alignment within the Community Safety Cluster, with the aim to accelerate law enforcement and safety by continuing to serve the residents of Tshwane. This should be done through collaborative efforts.

Cllr Sebotsane said he looks forward to the robust discussions and their contributions to his Section 79 Committee and fully supports Ms Faro and Mr Mosia in the work they are expected to carry out and in prioritising the creation of a secure and safe environment that will allow the people of Tshwane to thrive, as enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1995.
