Parts of Region 7 have been affected by a power outage following a 132 kV trip at an Eskom substation in Emalahleni yesterday, 13 November 2023.
The power utility is busy with investigations regarding the cause of the blackout. The City will provide residents with information as well as the restoration time as and when Eskom gives an update on repairs.
The following areas are affected:
- Bronkhorstbaai
- Bronkhorstspruit
- Ekangala
- Rethabiseng
- Zithobeni
In the interest of safety, all electrical appliances must always be treated as live (still on) during this service supply interruption.
Please note: Due to this power failure, the water purification plants in Region 7 are off. They use electrical power to operate continuously in order to supply drinking water.
Any inconvenience that may be encountered as a result of this blackout is regrettable.
