Cllr Rina Marx

MMC for Health

Recently the City of Tshwane Health Department alongside  the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Nasiphi Moya hosted a successful health and social outreach programme in Olievenhoutbosch in Region 4.

The purpose of the event was not only to provide health and social services, but also to empower the Olievenhoutbosch community with information that can assist them to make informed decisions about their overall health and well-being.

The Health Department provided health-promotion services with information on breast cancer, cholera and teenage pregnancy, to name a few. The department’s Multisectoral AIDS Management Unit (MSAMU) and the Community Orientated Substance Use Programme (COSUP) were also present and provided valuable information with the purpose of creating greater awareness of important health issues.

The Health Department is forever grateful for the services offered by Wits RHI, #KeReady, the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Social Development, King’s Hope Development Foundation, the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), Old Mutual, the South African Police Service (SAPS), Gauteng Crime Prevention Wardens and the Olievenhoutbosch Community Policing Forum. These valued partners always step up to strengthen our efforts by bringing their own brand of expertise and services.

As the multiparty coalition, we are passionate about bringing services closer to communities to demonstrate how we really care about Tshwane residents.
