Rescheduled planned upgrades of the Highveld Ext 65 water supply network

Due to the rainy weather experienced on Tuesday, 12 November 2024, the planned upgrade work to a water supply network in Highveld Ext 65 on Kaoline Street and Olievenhoutbosch Road had to be rescheduled as technicians could not work in the wet and muddy conditions.

The said upgrade is now scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 26 November 2024, for ten hours from 08:00 until 18:00. The City acknowledges the frustration and inconvenience caused by these recurring postponements and pleads for customers’ patience and understanding.

On the day, the following areas and amenities may experience a water supply interruption:

• Centurion Academy
• Centurion Residential Estate & Country Club
• Highveld Ext 2, 7 and 8
• Hyundai Centurion
• Irene Ext 52, 147, 155, 156, 157 and 185
• Makro Centurion
• Southdowns Centre

Residents are urged to continue to make the following water-conservation measures part of their normal lifestyle:

• Do not water or irrigate gardens with hosepipes or sprinkler systems between 06:00 and 18:00.
• Do not wash vehicles with hosepipes.
• Do not fill swimming pools.
• Install a low-flow shower head and tap aerators where possible.
• Use a dual-flush toilet cistern.
• Plant indigenous or drought-resistant shrubs in the garden.
• Use a broom instead of a hosepipe when cleaning driveways or patios.
• Collect rainwater to reuse in the garden or wash the car.
• Cover the swimming pool to reduce water evaporation.
• Take a short shower rather than a bath.
• Close a running tap while brushing teeth or shaving.
• Regularly check toilets and taps for leaks.

Residents are urged to continue using grey water to water gardens and flush toilets. Where possible, water-saving devices should be installed.
