Help us fill a backpack

Back-to-school season is a stressful time for many and no one knows the challenges of back-to-school season better than parents. From uniforms to last-minute glue sticks, scissors and pencils, the list seems endless.

The City of Tshwane has partnered with Unisa Radio to raise donations of school shoes and stationery for underprivileged learners in undeveloped communities in and around Tshwane.

Our goal is to ease the burden on parents and ensure that no child feels excluded because of their family’s financial situation.

The City of Tshwane is encouraging acts of giving with this Back-to-School Charity Drive and calls on residents and businesses to join this drive to provide stationery and school shoes to learners in need.

The following drop-off points are available from 1 to 28 February 2026 during office hours:

  • Tshwane House
  • Sammy Marks Customer Care Centre
  • Silver Lakes Customer Care Centre
  • Akasia Customer Care Centre
  • Centurion Customer Care Centre
  • Middestad Customer Care Centre
  • Unisa Radio Studios

Beyond this campaign, this initiative provides an opportunity to build and strengthen meaningful, long-term relationships with schools.
