MMC for Human Settlements
On 26 April 2023, Council approved the public participation process for the draft review of the City of Tshwane Municipal Sustainable Human Settlement Plan (MSHSP). Subsequently, the Human Settlements Department worked with the Office of the Speaker to engage various stakeholders and the public in general to solicit comments and inputs on the draft MSHSP.
The aim of the MSHSP is to develop the strategic direction for the development of sustainable human settlements, in line with new planning directives and regulatory frameworks, and to provide guidelines for integrated human settlement developments as well as a spatial framework and structure for interventions.
Thus far, various stakeholder meetings have been held with the last public meeting held virtually on 16 November 2023. Written comments are still welcome until 1 December 2023 at 16:00.
I call on residents to use this opportunity to make comments on the MSHSP so that your views can be heard and included into the plan.
Copies of the reviewed MSHSP are available on the City of Tshwane public website (http://www.tshwane.gov.za) and at City of Tshwane customer care centres.
