The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) did a great job on 27 August 2024 by catching criminals in different parts of the city. First, they went to Hammanskraal and arrested four men who had heroin, a dangerous drug. Then, in Karenpark, they caught another man with crystal meth and crack cocaine – drugs that are very harmful. The TMPD also went to Refilwe in Bronkhorstspruit and arrested seven people who were in the country illegally and working in spaza shops.
While patrolling in Pretoria, TMPD officers chased a car that was trying to break into houses and steal cars. They caught two suspects after a high-speed chase and found more drugs and stolen items at their house. In another case, TMPD officers found 44 rolls of stolen aluminium cables in a bakkie that was involved in an accident. The people in the bakkie ran away, but the police took the stolen items and are investigating.
The Chief of Police, Commissioner YCR Faro, praised the TMPD officers for their hard work and said they would keep working to make sure everyone in Tshwane is safe.
