As the MMC for Utility Services, I visited the Parkmore Water Reservoir Project in
Ward 83, Region 6 to conduct a site inspection. Upon arrival, we discovered that the
project is about the construction of the 10 Mℓ Parkmore Reservoir and installation of
feeder mains, which is behind schedule.
We took a decision to implement the following corrective measures to mitigate the
delay in the completion of the project:
• While waiting for the third lift concrete to cure, the contractor fast-tracked progress
by fixing reinforcement steel for the fourth lift of the reservoir wall within a sevenday period.
• Together with the department, we are targeting to place the concrete for the fourth
lift of the reservoir wall by 11 February 2025.
On 28 January 2025, the concrete for the third lift of the reservoir wall was concluded.
We are still committed to see the 100% completion of the reservoir, which will service
the community of Region 6.
