The City of Tshwane has become aware of a misleading message circulating on various social media platforms, inviting jobseekers to apply for job opportunities in the City through a fake website.
The advertisement directs the public to a fake website, www.simply-jobs.co.za, to access and submit applications for the posts.
The message is devoid of any truth, as the City advertises its vacant posts in newspapers and on the Job Forum page of its website, www.tshwane.gov.za. The public should take note that the scammers selectively copied the advertised posts from the City’s website and used their own fake website address to lure potential jobseekers to their scam.
The City of Tshwane can confirm that the circulating posts have indeed been advertised in the City’s Job Forum 24/2025 dated 13 June 2025, together with other management positions. Two of the circulating posts are in the City of Tshwane Human Settlements Department and the other one is within the Regional Operations and Coordination Department. Applicants are advised to visit the City’s website, click on the E-Recruitment link and follow the prompts.
We want to warn these scammers that they will be arrested, charged and prosecuted, as their actions border on criminality. Further, we advise the public to contact the Tshwane Metro Police Department on 012 358 7095/7096 whenever they come across job advertisements that are issued outside the norms and procedures of the City’s processes.
