Residents and businesses in Soshanguve are advised of a rescheduled planned electricity supply interruption on Sunday, 18 January 2026, from 09:00 to 16:00, to allow the City of Tshwane to conduct essential maintenance work at the K3 Substation.
The maintenance work is necessary to enable the City’s technical teams to carry out repairs on fibre-optic cables that have impacted the protection inter-trip systems and the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system communication links between primary substations. These systems are critical, as they ensure the safe and reliable operation of the electricity network.
This shutdown was initially scheduled for Sunday, 23 November 2025, but had to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
The interruption will affect the entire Soshanguve township.
Residents are urged to treat all electricity network points as live at all times during the interruption period.
