Rayton Licencing Centre is back in business

Rayton Licencing Centre is fully operational again and will boost licencing services in Tshwane.

The original centre was closed in December 2016 to refurbish it, and to create a modern and client-friendly service centre. Previously, the Rayton Centre offered services at two different sites that compromised efficiency and the quality of services rendered.

Services at the centre will now be offered at one site and will include renewing driving licences, applying and testing for driving and learner’s licences, and registering and licencing motor vehicles. It has the capacity to deal with up to 350 clients per day across the different services.

This centre has new features that are geared towards improving customer experience, which include a spacious public waiting area, public toilets, free Wi-Fi, safe parking bays, a reception and client service counter, a learner licence test room fitted with a modern computerised learner’s licence testing system, one heavy motor vehicle test track and light motor vehicle test tracks.

The centre will bring some relief to the Bronkhorstspruit and Waltloo Licencing Centres that picked up the traffic from Rayton when it was closed. The investment in the refurbishment was R5 million.

When opening the new centre, the Executive Mayor of Tshwane, Alderman Randall Williams, said that a new benchmark was set for licencing stations in Tshwane, and that what has been accomplished at the Rayton Licencing Centre needs to be rolled out to the other licencing centres in Tshwane.
