Temporary closure of municipal offices and other services over the festive period

Residents of Tshwane are informed about the temporary closure of offices that render non-essential services from 12:00 on 23 December 2022 to 2 January 2023.

This temporary closure comes as a result of the festive season that is already upon us. During this period, some walk-in customer care centres will be closed. However, the following municipal pay points will be open from 28 December to 12:00 on 30 December 2022: 

  • Akasia
  • Beirut
  • Bodibeng
  • Bronkhorstspruit
  • Hammanskraal
  • Mabopane Block X
  • Middestad Building
  • Olievenhoutbosch
  • Soshanguve Block F
  • Temba 

Call centre services will remain open to assist with the following reporting:

  • Power failures
  • Street lights
  • Water leaks
  • Roads and storm water
  • Potholes
  • Traffic signals
  • Water and sanitation

Account payments 

If you are away during the festive season, there are easy, quick and safe electronic facilities you can use to pay. Always pay for municipal services, whether you have received a notice or not.

You can make your payments through the e-Tshwane portal or at accredited third-party pay points, such as the Post Office, Pick n Pay, Usave, OK, Spar, Boxer, Caltex, BP, EP kiosks, Investec, MTN, FNB, Absa, Nedbank, Standard Bank, Shoprite or Checkers. You can also pay via electronic fund transfer.

Customers can submit meter readings via the e-Tshwane platform or at meterrecords@tshwane.gov.za in accordance with the billing calendar. Visit www.tshwane.gov.za, click on the e-Tshwane link and follow the instructions.

Customers can get a summary of their municipal account, pay their account and download various forms to apply for and cancel services via the e-Tshwane platform and the WhatsApp service on 087 153 1001. Please ensure that you register on e‑Tshwane first, as non-registered customers will not be able to get billing information.

 

Refuse collection 

Refuse collection will continue according to the usual schedule from 26 to 30 December 2022.

 

Emergency services

The Tshwane Metro Police Department and Emergency Services Department are on full alert this festive season and will operate 24 hours a day to assist residents.

Tshwane Market 

The Tshwane Market will be closed for sales from 25 to 27 December 2022 and from 1 to 2 January 2023. On 31 December 2022, the market will be open for sales.

To log queries, contact the customer call centre on 012 358 9999 or toll-free on 080 1111 556.

Power failures can also be reported via SMS or online. SMS the word “power” followed by your account number to 082 612 0333 or 44676, or visit www.tshwane.gov.za and follow the Report Power Failure link.

Nature reserves and resorts

All City of Tshwane nature reserves and resorts will be open for visitors during the festive season.

The operating times of nature reserves are from sunrise to sunset. Resort operating times are from 08:00 to18:00.

Visitors are reminded that a cashless system is applicable at all entrance points.

 

Licencing centres

The City’s licencing centres will be closed from 28 December 2022 to 2 January 2023.

A Re Yeng and Tshwane Bus Services 

  • A Re Yeng call centres will be closed from midday on 23 December 2022 to 2 January 2023. A Re Yeng operational hours will be as follows:
25 to 26 December 2022 Not operational
27 to 31 December 2022 Operational
1 January 2023 Not operational

 

  • Tshwane Bus Services daily operations will be suspended from 24 December 2022 to 2 January 2023. However, the hiring of bus services can be arranged by contacting Rebecca Chuene on 072 920 1465.
