Cllr Cilliers Brink

Executive Mayor of Tshwane

Today, the City of Tshwane Council has approved a report to appoint senior Section 56 managers. This is an important development for the City, as these managers will help to change the organisational culture to one of high performance and professionalism.

This set of managers will be appointed on a permanent basis and will report directly to the City Manager. Their appointment comes after a rigorous and thorough recruitment process where the best candidates emerged.

The City strongly believes that the selected candidates are fit for purpose and will be instrumental in turning Tshwane around and ensuring that we break the networks of corruption within the City and focus our resources on service delivery.

.The selected candidates will occupy the following roles once job offers have been sent and accepted:

  • Chief of Police
  • Chief of Emergency Services
  • Chief Financial Officer
  • Chief Operating Officer
  • Chief Audit Executive
  • Group Head: Strategy and Management Support
  • Governance and Support Officer

The City of Tshwane faces many challenges and requires experienced professionals who will hit the ground running and help the local government of the day to execute its democratic mandate.
