City of Tshwane allocates significant budget to improve service delivery in townships

Recently, the City of Tshwane Council approved the 2023/24 budget for the upcoming financial year starting in July 2023. The budget will prioritise core basic service delivery. We have no room for superficial projects that do not bring meaningful change to the people of Tshwane.

The City can admit that service delivery levels are not where we would like them to be, but we are committed to addressing this challenge and ensuring that we drive services to all our communities.

As such, the budget has made significant allocations to township areas which are often underdeveloped and have some of our poorest communities.

Despite the City’s precarious financial health, we have stretched our limited resources to ensure that we continue to deliver basic services to all. I would like to encourage you to get a copy of the City’s budget so you can have a clear picture of what to expect in the upcoming financial year.

Through this budget, our coalition government is laying the foundation to build a capital city that works for all its people.
