10 Mℓ reservoir in Refilwe almost ready to provide water to residents

Major projects in Refilwe are nearing completion, and will soon be operational and provide residents with essential water and sanitation services.

The MMC for Human Settlements, Cllr Ofentse Madzebatela, recently undertook an oversight visit to Refilwe Manor in Region 5 to check on the status and progress of the waste water treatment plant, the 10 Mℓ reservoir and two sewer pump stations.

The R79 million reservoir project was previously set back by many factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic, theft, vandalism and disruptions by business forums, making it almost impossible for the project to continue.

Despite all these difficulties, the reservoir is nearing completion and will be approved for operations once electricity is supplied to the pump house.

According to Cllr Madzebatela, the relevant departments are working hard to ensure that the reservoir can provide water to residents by the end of the year.
