Women’s Dialogue

On Thursday 14 September 2023, the Speaker of Council, Cllr Mncedi Ndzwanana, hosted a Women’s Dialogue under the theme Women’s Socio-Economic Rights and Empowerment: Building Back Better for Women’s Improved Resilience.

The programme of the day included a panel discussion that consisted of the following participants: Cllr Sandy Motale, the Chairperson of the Women’s Caucus; Ms Sindiswa Ngcongco, the Gender Directorate at the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development; General Sandra Thema from the South African Police Service; Ms Zanele Mphuthi from South African Breweries; Ms Letsoalo Moorab from the Independent Electoral Commission and Ms Natashia Chhiba from the City of Tshwane Health Department.

In his keynote address, the Speaker of Council said, “This celebration is a sign of appreciation, respect, love, and care towards the women in our lives and in society. It is an opportunity to recognise the significance of women in our lives and society. It is also an opportunity to inspire women to continue to strive for greater future achievements, as women can contribute equally to their homes, society, and our nation.”
