NO WATERING OF GARDENS 9 Nov

Important reminder: Water conservation and by-law enforcement

During summer, which brings with it high temperatures, there is high water demand and consumption. It is crucial that we continue to prioritise water conservation efforts and adhere to the water restrictions in place. We would like to take this opportunity to remind residents about the importance of using water sparingly and the consequences of non-compliance.

Observe water restrictions

Please remember to follow the designated water restriction levels assigned to our community. Restrictions are put in place to ensure that water demand does not outstrip supply and disrupt service delivery. These restrictions are in place to ensure fair distribution and sustainable use of our precious water resources. By adhering to these restrictions, we can collectively contribute to the conservation of water and ensure the sustainability of our water supply. Through the provision of uninterrupted water and sanitation services, we can maintain a healthy environment for all.

Conserve water

Every drop counts! We kindly request that you continue to use water sparingly in your daily activities. Simple measures like fixing leaking taps, taking shorter showers, reporting burst pipes, and using efficient irrigation systems can significantly reduce water wastage. Let us make a conscious effort to conserve water wherever possible. The everyday conservation efforts of residents and businesses will help in addressing unsustainably high-water consumption, particularly during the warmer months.

By-law enforcement

Please be aware that there are strict by-laws to enforce water restrictions. These by-laws are in place to maintain the integrity of our water supply and ensure fairness among all residents. Violating these restrictions will not be taken lightly and appropriate actions will be taken against transgressors. We kindly request your cooperation in adhering to these regulations.

Report violations

If you witness any instances of water misuse or notice someone not complying with the water restrictions, we encourage you to report it to the appropriate authorities on 012 358 7095/7096. Your vigilance can help us maintain a sustainable water supply and protect the interests of our community.

Remember, water is a scarce and precious resource. It is our collective responsibility to use it wisely. Let us work together to conserve water, respect water restrictions and ensure a sustainable future for our community. Now more than ever, it is imperative that we change our habits when it comes to water use. We can all make a difference by introducing one small change a day.
