Continuation of maintenance on a water supply network in Philip Nel Park

Tomorrow, 13 February 2024, the City of Tshwane will continue with maintenance and upgrades to a water supply network in Philip Nel Park on the corner of Morkel Street and Jan Heukelmann Avenue.

This essential work overlaps with the initial maintenance and upgrades, which were carried out on 30 January 2024, that the City’s technicians could not conclude due to challenges experienced on the water supply network.

Although an interruption to the water supply will be avoided at all costs, it may occur between 08:00 and 16:00 in the following areas:

  • Danville Ext 0, 1, 2, 3 and 8
  • Danville Primary School
  • Elandspoort
  • Elandspoort High School
  • Laerskool General Beyers
  • Metro Police Academy
  • Philip Nel Park
  • Philip Nel Park Fire Station
  • Pretoria Golf Club
  • Pretoria West High School
  • Pretoria West Hospital
  • Rebecca Street Crematorium and Cemetery
  • Tshwane Leadership and Management Academy (Premos)
  • Tshwane University of Technology (Main Campus)

The City of Tshwane apologises for the inconvenience that may be caused by the above-mentioned continuation of maintenance work.

During this period, the City wishes to remind residents to adhere to the following water-conservation measures:

  • Do not water or irrigate gardens with hosepipes or sprinkler systems between 06:00 and 18:00.
  • Do not wash vehicles with hosepipes.
  • Do not fill swimming pools.
  • Install a low-flow shower head and tap aerators where possible.
  • Use a dual-flush toilet cistern.
  • Plant indigenous or drought-resistant shrubs in the garden.
  • Use a broom instead of a hosepipe when cleaning driveways or patios.
  • Collect rainwater to reuse in the garden or wash the car.
  • Cover the swimming pool to reduce water evaporation.
  • Take a short shower rather than a bath.
  • Close a running tap while brushing teeth or shaving.
  • Regularly check toilets and taps for leaks.
